Make Your Makeup Last

Written By Brittney Thurman

When putting your makeup on in the morning, you want it to last the entire day. It is inconvenient when you have to touch up in the middle of the day or run to the bathroom and quickly fix a streak of mascara. If you are a beauty queen, you need your makeup to stay while you are on stage. However, there are ways to avoid these issues.

  1. Use primer – Primer is a makeup product that you put under your makeup before applying it. There are face primers and eyelid primers; primer serves as a base for your face makeup and your eye makeup. It prevents creasing, flaking, and oiliness.

  2. Apply pressed powder – After finishing your makeup in the morning or before an event, apply a pressed powder to ensure that your makeup lasts all day. Pressed powder locks in foundation and ensures that your skin remains matte and free of shine.

  3. Setting spray – Setting spray serves a very similar purpose as powder, for it prevents your makeup from running or rubbing off during daily activities. There are several kinds of setting sprays that serve different purposes, so you are bound to find one that works for you.

  4. Place powder on top of lipstick – Tired of your lipstick wearing off as soon as you eat, drink, or talk? Try using a translucent powder on top your lipstick. Simply apply the lip product like normal, then use a small brush dipped in translucent powder. Gently tap it on your lips, and say goodbye to fading lipstick!

  5. Avoid touching your face – Sometimes people have the habit of touching their face throughout the day, but this can be harmful for makeup. The oils from your fingers will transfer to your face makeup and cause the skin to become oily.

Trying any of these tips will ensure that your makeup lasts all day, and that you are ready for anything that the day might have in store.
