Essential Oils With Beauty Benefits

Written By Shreya Wadkar

Who doesn't want radiant skin and healthy hair? These are musts for any pageant girl, whether you're on stage being interviewed by a panel or out in your daily life. Today, I'll be sharing with you all a few essential oils with incredible benefits that will have your skin and hair stage-ready for any upcoming beauty pageants. Let's get started!

Tea Tree Oil:

Tea tree oil is so incredibly versatile in its benefits. It's known mostly for its antiseptic and healing properties, but it has a lot of great beauty uses as well. Because it is an antiseptic, it's amazing as an acne spot treatment. With just a couple drops on a Q-tip, the tea tree oil will soothe skin as well and reduce redness from blemishes to give you clear, pageant-ready skin. And adding a couple drops of this oil to your regular shampoo can also help reduce dandruff.

It is important to know, however, that tea tree oil should not be ingested and should be used sparingly as it can be harsh in large amounts.

Grapeseed Oil:

Another amazing, inexpensive essential oil is grapeseed oil, which is especially great for pageant girls with oily skin. It is a natural astringent that can be used to tone and tighten skin -- all you need to do is put a few drops onto a cotton pad and spread it over your face after cleansing. It can also be used to prevent and reduce acne, similarly to tea tree oil, because it has anti-inflammatory properties. Another great use for grapeseed oil is dabbing a little bit underneath your eyes to minimize under-eye circles and keep you looking fresh and alert during your beauty pageant.

Coconut Oil:

Unlike tea tree oil and grapeseed oil, coconut oil has amazing moisturizing qualities. It can be used to soften cuticles or feet by massaging it into your skin, and it can be used as a luxuriously moisturizing shaving cream. Not only that, but a dab of coconut oil can also double as an overnight lip balm, remove tough waterproof eye makeup, and be used as a deep conditioner for hair if you massage it into your roots and leave it for a few hours before washing out as normal. It'll leave you hair shiny and smooth and definitely catch attention on the pageant stage!

Olive Oil:

Last but not least, olive oil. This versatile oil is not only great for cooking, but its beauty benefits are incredible for those of you pageant girls looking for an at-home beauty fix. Just like coconut oil, it can be used as a makeup remover or shaving cream, and it can also be easily made into a lip scrub by combining it with granulated sugar. You can even mix in either coarse sea salt or epsom salts to create an exfoliating body scrub. It can also be used as a hair treatment for frizzy hair -- you can either apply the roots and leave it for a few hours before washing your hair or use a few drops on dry hair to smooth out flyaways and split ends.

Which essential oil will you be using to get your skin ready for your next big beauty pageant?
