All-Natural Beauty: Body Lotion
Written By Madison Bai
I love body lotion. It keeps skin soft and supple, while making sure you smell wonderful! Lotion is important for skin because good lotion will not only hydrate, but also help heal and protect skin. Furthermore, because the lotion’s ingredients will be absorbed into your skin, you want to make sure that you’re not piling on the chemicals. This is why I prefer to buy organic body lotion when possible.
Every pageant girl wants beautiful, soft skin. So why not make sure you can keep it glowing by using safe, organic products? Below are a few of my favorite (or highly rated) organic body lotions as well as a recipe or two if you’re the D.I.Y. type. Enjoy!
Organic Body Lotion Products:
1. 100% Pure Nourishing Body Cream (Coconut)
I received a sample of this in my Birch Box and absolutely loved it. It had a nice creamy formula, and was very hydrating. The biggest problem I usually have with body lotions are that they are too thin and do not hydrate enough. However, this product was perfectly thick and hydrating. I had a sample of the coconut one, and personally loved it. However, some people are not huge coconut fans. Luckily, they also have green apple, vanilla bean, and pink grapefruit to choose from!
2. Bliss Body Butter (Lemon & Sage)
My mom received a set of bliss body butters for Christmas, and I quickly set out trying each and every one. The consistency is between thin and creamy, but still hydrating making it nice for the summer. These body butters are paraben free and contain Vitamin A and E, both of which are good for the skin. Furthermore, the body butters come in an array of lovely scents. I liked the lemon and sage because it smelled fresh and energizing due to the citrus.
3. Alba Botanica Very Emollient Body Lotion (Unscented)
My parents use this body lotion, and naturally I was curious and helped myself to some. This lotion doesn’t smell like anything special, and because of this you can easily layer your perfume on top without any scent conflict. Furthermore, this stuff is gloriously thick, and thus super hydrating! It is paraben free and hypoallergenic, so it is great for those with sensitive skin.
4. Nourish Organic Body Lotion (Almond Vanilla)
I received a sample of this product and was impressed by its all-organic list of ingredients! It has a pleasant smell and a very lightweight formula. This would be perfect for summer. Especially, for those living in more humid environments because the lotion is less thick than those mentioned above (but is also less hydrating). However, it is chalk full of good-for-you ingredients such as aloe vera, argan oil, and vitamin E making for beautiful, soft pageant-ready skin.
