One does not have to be “certified” to be a good, responsible judge, but check this out if you’d like: http://www.ehow.com/how_6712186_become-certified-pageant-judge.html
This will be “basic” info for some but not for others and it will remind folks that in many–if not most–pageants one is judged on much more than their outer beauty: http://www.insidejobs.com/careers/pageant-judge.
Along those lines: What are pageant judges looking for? It depends on the pageant but how well you answer pageant interview questions in any interviews with judges (whether with individual judges, all of them in a panel interview, or a mock media appearance) AND on stage is what separates a queen from the princesses.
I posted this in another spot or two, but it is appropriate here too: a perspective from a judge who NOW appreciates pageants more: From The Huffington Post http://www.huffingtonpost.com/karen-s-exkorn/dont-judge-me-because-i-j_b_4988300.html

Many systems list info for and about judges. Do an internet search and you’ll see.
I’m always seeking more resources, so please tell me if you’ve found some I should share. [And if any of these links have “died” please let me know that if you have a minute to do so. 🙂 ]
