Women often times struggle with skin problems, but have you ever thought that it might be caused by the foods you eat? There are studies that have examined the effects that certain food products have on your skin. If you happen to be struggling with a certain skin issue, it might be irritated by a certain food item.

  1. Sugar – Sugar tends to cause acne; it leads to redness and inflammation. Try to examine food labels before cooking or consuming them.

  2. Processed Food – Junk food and other items that are processed tend to be high in sugar and fat. When consumed, your skin tends to produce more oil which can clog the pores.

  3. Dairy – As much as we tend to think that dairy products are healthy, they are not good for the skin at all. Dairy does not digest well with the body, and it results in cystic acne.

  4. Coffee – The caffeine in coffee dehydrates the body and also dehydrates the skin. Dehydration can cause the skin to look dull or form wrinkles.

These food items are okay for you in moderation, it only causes damage when consumed in large amounts. Consume in moderation and your skin will thank you.
