Fall Favorites

By: Shreya Wadkar

I don't know about you, but for me, October flew by in a flurry of pumpkins and Halloween madness. As we move into Thanksgiving season and cooler weather, it's time to get cozy, grab a Pumpkin Spice Latte, and if you're like me -- start counting down the days until Christmas. We've got a couple seasonal posts coming up, and this is just the first of many. Today, I have a few fall favorites to share with you lovely pageant ladies! Lately I've been obsessed with anything to get me in the mood for fall, so I've got some Fall goodies as well as beauty products to share with you today.

Bath and Body Works Leaves Candle

This one is a classic, but I just had to mention it. I've been burning my Leaves candle all month long, and there's nothing like it to get me into an Autumnal mood. It's a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, and it smells just like hot, mulled apple cider. If you're a fan of cinnamon-y smells, I would definitely recommend giving this one a try. It's perfect for a warm and cozy fall atmosphere, and the scent is strong enough to fill a room without being overpowering. The new mason-jar packaging is adorable and rustic as well and makes for a great decoration.

Homemade Fall Face Mask with Pumpkin

I am a lover of face masks, especially DIY masks that can be easily put together with natural, household ingredients. So this month I've been looking around the internet for a face mask with fall ingredients, and I happened upon this lovely recipe. It only requires four ingredients -- pumpkin puree, almond oil, honey, and brown sugar. All of these can be found at a local grocery store, so you won't have to go through too much trouble for this mask. It's simple to make and it's supposed to soften and brighten the skin, which is great for the cooler weather when skin tends to get dry and you still want your face to be bright and glowing for any pageants that might be coming up or a holiday party. Give this fresh face mask a try and watch it do wonders for your skin!

Essie's Partner In Crime Nail Polish

Essie nail polishes are always a favorite of mine, so I was really excited to see their new lineup of colors. This new fall collection has a lot of incredible shades, but this one is my favorite. It's a beautiful, deep-toned brown polish. It's creamy and rich when applied, and it's super opaque, so all you need is one coat! The consistency and application of this product is great as well, and the shade is absolutely perfect for fall. Because it's neutral, so it'll go with just about any outfit you wear, especially ones with warm fall colors.

Pumpkin Pie Puppy Chow

Puppy Chow is one of my favorite holiday snacks (that I indulge in all year-round). I like to make it during Christmas time, but I recently found a really great fall-themed puppy chow recipe, so you can just imagine my excitement. I've yet to try it out, but as Thanksgiving comes around, this might just be my contribution to the Feast. For those of you who don't know, puppy chow is, in fact, not dog food, but a scrumptious sweet snack made with rice chex cereal. There are a lot of variations, but this one may become my new favorite. It's got white chocolate, pumpkin puree, and M&Ms and if you're a fan of sweet treats, this may be the one for you.

Philosophy's Cinnamon Buns Shower Gel

Philosophy's bath and shower products are incredibly popular, and with good reason. They all smell delicious and leave your skin feeling soft and pampered. And I always like to switch up my shower gel by the season, because it's an easy way to get into the fall atmosphere as the smell envelopes the entire bathroom. This shower gel is for those of you who aren't too keen on the pumpkin scent that's ever-present around this time of the year. This shower gel gives a rich and thick lather, and it smells warm and sweet and spicy and will definitely give you a huge cinnamon buns craving.
