All those great clothes! No matter whether you spent a little or lot, it just makes sense to take good care of them. In the coming days we’ll add resources for obvious and less obvious clothing care, especially for when you’re on the go. (Let me know if you have good resources or great tips to share.)
Naturally you’ll start with looking at the care label, but sometimes you’ll find it makes sense to bend the rules on the side of “gentle” by hand washing or dry cleaning.
Clearly your pageant evening gown will get special care! But you also have your gym clothes and other “run of the mill” clothes. So let’s start with the obvious: have a good washing machine. You don’t need a dozen cycles, just a few will do as long as it includes a delicate cycle. And in this day and age it just makes sense to get something water efficient and energy efficient. Just be sure that if you get a High Efficiency machine that you use High Efficiency detergent. (It has a little HE logo on it.) If you do not, your machine won’t clean your clothes right, but it won’t be the machine’s fault!
